Rugby is the players game and we are a players' club. Formed in 1956 to provide rugby for youth players who could not get into existing local clubs, Abbey has never forgotten its roots. While we are nowadays fortunate to be a family club with three generations playing and helping to run the Club, we still place great emphasis on the quality of our rugby and the warmth of the welcome that we afford to guests, new members and especially new players.
Abbey Rugby Club run 4 senior sides, a Colts (Under 19) team and a full Mini and Junior section from Under 6 upwards. Our First XV compete in the South West 1 League (National level 5).
